Required Documents for a Student Visa from Turkmenistan

To obtain a student visa from Turkmenistan, all required documents must be completed accurately.

Turkey Visa for Turkmen Citizens

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, the visa exemption previously granted to Turkmen citizens for tourist visits to Turkey with a stay of up to 30 days has been abolished.

For this reason, students who plan to come to Turkey to study at a university are also required to obtain a visa.

Visa Fees from Turkmenistan to Turkey

A fee must be paid for entry to and exit from Turkey when traveling from Turkmenistan. The entry fee to Turkey is approximately 12 USD. If Turkmenistan Airlines is not used, the fee will be calculated as 25 USD.

How Long Can Turkmen Citizens Stay in Turkey?

If Turkmen citizens stay in Turkey for more than 30 days from the date of their first entry, they must obtain a legal residence permit. Otherwise, they will be considered in violation of visa regulations and will be required to pay a fine when leaving Turkey.

Turkmen citizens who leave Turkey without paying the visa violation fine may face a five-year entry ban to Turkey, and Turkmenistan may also impose an exit ban from the country.

Student Residence Permit

After arriving in Turkey from Turkmenistan with a student visa, completing university enrollment, and obtaining a student certificate, students must apply for a Residence Permit at the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.

If Turkmen citizens are studying in Turkey and plan to stay for a long period, they are required to obtain a student residence permit in order to reside legally in Turkey.

To obtain a student residence permit, certain steps must be followed.

1. Residence Permit Application

Student residence permit applications are usually submitted by the students themselves. In some cases, the university you are enrolled in may follow up on your residence permit application on your behalf or assist you during the application process.

2. Collecting the Required Documents

During the student residence permit application, the Migration Office will inform you of the required documents. These documents generally include your Turkmen passport (and its Turkish translation), student ID or acceptance letter (provided by your university), health insurance, documents proving financial status, and the payment receipt showing that the application fee has been paid. It is very important to submit all documents completely.

3. Making an Appointment with the Provincial Migration Office

You must schedule your appointment through the website of the Migration Management. You can choose from the available appointment slots. Your appointment confirmation will be sent to you via email. Please make sure not to miss your appointment.

4. Appointment Preparation and Attendance

Please go to the selected Migration Office with all the required documents. Do not forget to submit all documents during your appointment and ensure that they are complete. Your fingerprints will be taken during the appointment.

5. Waiting for the Application Result

The result of your residence permit application may take several weeks. Please do not panic during this time. Sometimes responses are received quickly, while in other cases it may take longer. On average, it takes a minimum of two weeks for your residence permit to be issued and delivered.
